Is there a better AC compressor than OEM?
Is there a better AC compressor than OEM? Anyone know if there is an AC compressor that is better than any of these:
ACDELCO 1520730
DELPHI CS0134
DENSO 4719177
I need to replace the compressor, so I'm curious if there is anything better than these OEM ones.
I'm going to replace the condenser and drier too.

Those are the 3 best that I found when researching a replacement for mine. The 15 year old compressor that came off my car was a Delphi. That's what I put back on and it was a very close duplicate. Cost of that with a receiver-drier/expansion valve set up was $375 delivered.

If you are replacing the compressor, then you should replace the condenser....at that point, you might as well replace the drier and both liquid lines.

Go to the dealership to get a new compressor installed. Its one of the very few items that I would ever let the dealership do.
I did this like 7 y ears ago. It cost me $800. BUT....I got a LIFETIME parts and labor warranty with it.
Since then I have had a new compressor installed when the 7 year old one quit. An evaporator for free. And an A/C line (compressor to condensor line) was also replaced about 1 year ago free of charge when it started leaking. No parts charges....no labor charges.
I will never pay for another A/C repair or part again. My $800 has already been put right back in my pocket, and then some.

Any distributor warrantying a new compressor will usually want a new receiver/dryer/LP line replaced along with the expansion tube. My compressor failed on a casing seal leak and never self-destructed. When replacing the exp value there were no metal shavings in the system, so we didn't replace the condenser. As it turned out the HP line had a leak on the metal tubing and had to be replaced too ($90). 2 yrs later no issues. These days it might be hard to find any dealer who will warranty your AC system repairs for life. Sounds too good to be true.

Almost all the dealerships around here offer that.
