Have any of you ever seen this? We have a college student living with us and she is driving one our sons' V6 Firebirds. She comes home today and says that one of the windshield wipers is broken. I go out to the car and find the wiper arm sitting the usual spot, but the base of the arm is snapped in two. I had no idea that those things were made of pot metal!

I have never heard of such a thing! Have you?

any chance the wiper was frozen in place and she turned them on?

Usually that only happens when you open the hood with a wiper up, and it usually cracks your windshield

We haven't had freezing weather here in quite some time, and no ice or snow at all enough to accumulate and cause that to happen. And trust me, she would never open a hood of her own accord.

Go figure.

Those are pretty dam strong arms, I watched the glass guy wrangle them back and forth to get them off. He was a big guy didn't break them. I'd say there's a little more to the story..............


My wife came home with a broken off antenna on her TA and claimed it just broke off. I found out much later she lost control racing a Mustang, slid off the road and a tree limb took the antenna off. She actually tried to use masking tape to put it back together thinking I wouldn't notice????????
