Starter solinoid wire has no power.. 01 Camaro SS

Well this could end up being the resistor in the key is not being recognized. Have you tried another key to see if that makes a difference? If the resistor contacts in the ignition switch are worn too much, either the ignition switch will have to be to replaced or a resistor the same value as the key will have to be wired into the connector at the bottom of the steering column.

Well, your going to have to take your meter and read the resistor value of the pellet on your key. You need to set the meter to read Ohms, then place the leads on the thin wires on both sides of the key. Hopefully you have a digital meter because this value is going to tell what resistor to buy.

Yeah, I believe the value for #4 is shown as .887. I'm not sure where you can get these. Radio Shack used to be a good spot, but many have closed in last few years. Might try on Ebay. By the way, this is known as the VATS Bypass.

This is a pretty common problem, so yes to both questions. Changing the switch means taking the steering wheel and air bag off and then removing the turn signal switch to get to ignition switch. Very time consuming. The easiest repair would be unplug the connector at the bottom of the steering column and placing the resistor into the connector half that goes to the BCM. Should be a two wire connector with White/Blk and Purple/White wires.
