Default 2000 WS6 - cannot communicate with ABS module

Ok I'm banging my head against a wall.
My ABS INOP, BRAKE, and TCS OFF lights are all on. They all turn on about 5 seconds after starting the engine.

The whole thing started when I did something stupid. It was dark and I needed to jump start my car. I proceeded to connect the jumper cables backwards. Great. Since then these lights have been on. The ABS doesn't work, but the car drives and stops fine.

I've checked all fuses, and then decided to replace the ABS control module with a reman ACDelco branded unit from RockAuto. Well the lights are still on, and I took the car to a local shop today to have the codes read. The scanner said, "cannot communicate with ABS module". RRGG!!!

What now? Is the computer fried? Is there some other voodoo I can try?
