AC system repair question
I rented a vacuum pump and the hose/gauges thing to hook up the low and high sides. And a can of flush.
I have a good idea from reading what the whole process is;
Drain the system
Remove compressor
Remove AC lines
Spray flush through the condenser, blow out with air
Flush through the EVAP core, blow out with air
Install lines with new the o-rings, and orifice tube
Install new compressor, fill with the oil
Create vacuum in the system, let sit 15-20mins make sure no leaks
Fill with refrigerant.
Note my question is, when there's vacuum in the system, and ready to fill with refrigerant, on the gauge/hose contraption do I open up both the high and low, or do I fill it from a specific side?
I always open cold side and wait for it to stop flowing, then start engine and AC and keep filling.
Also, most resources say to vacuum for 2 hours to ensure all moisture is removed, I would definitely do this since you will be flushing it all out.

And 2 hours?! Damn, but OK well do
THAT ISN'T RIGHT!!! lol
For those of you who are curious, you leave the pump running for an hour or two. You'll see all the water vapor trapped in the system start misting out of the pump lol.. then after that, you shut the valves, turn off the pump, and just see for a minute or two to make sure it's holding pressure lol.
So, yeah, don't be like me and just let it sit for an hour with the pump off.. time wasted lmao

Actually had a bit of a scare today though, but was just me being a dumbass lol.
Got in this morning going to work, AC wasnt blowing cold cold like it has been, but it was still somewhat cool. Heading home from work, it still wasn't cold though, so I'm thinking to myself, **** do I got a leak somewhere, maybe I should put some dye in and check everything again. Then I realized, I had the temp turned where is just starting to go from blue to red, and remembered, id turned the heat up a bit the other morning when the windows were fogging up. Turned it all the way back down, and froze myself out again lol
