Head gasket blown?

Hi guys. My 2002 VW Jetta's radiator reservoir is leaking (has been for abour 1.5 years or so) and I will be replacing it end of Dec. Now my 'do it yourself mechanic' brother in law told me my head gasket has blown because there is a slightly milky residue on my oil cap. The car does not drive long enough distances to properly warm up and my oil on the dipstick is dark in color ( service is due very soon). Should I be worried? Thanks in advance!

The milky stuff could be condensation from the engine, had that on my 02 TA cleaned the cap and drive it more often, never came back, not saying yours is the same issue, just food for thought.
