Had a big a/c leak should i still try to discharge before takeing apart system?

Default Had a big a/c leak should i still try to discharge before takeing apart system?

Want to take apart a/c ,wondering if any refridgerent left ,had it recharged one time, the a/c worked great for a week then it didn't work any more,so i think it leaked out, car isn't running, so i can't drive to a place get it done,what does anyone think?

If it worked for a week and then didn't work any more sounds like a leak,leaked enough that the low pressure side of the systems pressure switch activated preventing function.
If the car isn't running,why are you concerned about the AC ???

Well,went ahead and took apart lines to the condenser,just a little oil like stuff leaked out just sealed it off with plastic bag and zip tie, i guess it's mostly gas stuff in there,i never saw anything leaking anywhere.
