Power Steering Return hose needed My 2000 Camaro 5.7 L V8 needs both the pressure and return lines for the power steering. i just had a reconditioned steering rack installed. It seems the only return hose available is for the 3.8L.
Does anyone know if it is possible to adapt the 3.8L version for the 5.7L?

The return is low pressure so it can just be oil rated 3/8" hose with clamps. If you want better you can get AN adapters from Turnone and probably earl's to run braided nylon or stainless lines.
I would think so. The AC Delco part (36-361130) for the 3.8 is a generic piece. The OEM hose on the 5.7 was just a metal tube that attached to the rack and the hose that came off of it was regular and non-molded.

When I needed one the store I went to was out of stock, so I just got a length of rubber hose (3/8" I think) and cut it to fit and clamped it at both ends, worked great.

Interested in what you ended up doing as well, my return line was hitting the pulley at some point and I noticed it's leaking. I took it off this morning and went down to the local Autozone and they didn't have the same size hose. But the bends in it have me concerned if I just get a length of hose.
