Default 99 Z28 -- Factory alarm went off for no reason and wouldn't go off.

So I was awoken at 3am to the sound of my horn blairing. Went outside and sure enough my alarm is going off. Hit the keyfob to unlock the doors, did not help. Hit the alarm button, still did not help. Entered the car and had to start it and that finally stopped it. Exited the car and locked the doors with my key fob and the alarm goes off again... This time I manually locked the doors without arming the alarm and it hasnt gone off since...

any idea as to whats going on?

The shock sensor in the RR pass side wheel well is probably getting sensitive/defective. Try unplugging and see what happens.

Unfortunately, these shock sensors fail towards hyper-sensitive. I've had mine unplugged for a while. This might be a great time/excuse to take it apart!

I'll just go ahead and replace it.

x3 on the shock sensor. there is a way to tune them down to make them less sensitive as well. food for thought
