Default Rotting hose, what do?

Title basically says it all, pic very related. I know this is a common issue, just can't seem to find a solid thread. *edit* I wrapped some electrical tape around it as a temp fix and is working like a dream, but would love a more permanent solution.

replace with oil rated hose that fits tight on intake and PCV. Probably check your PCV for function while your at it.

A standard piece of 3/8 fuel hose is the thing.

surprised no one has mentioned........the whole hose ( from the front mani nipple to the drivers side valve cover nipple ) is probably JUNK .....the foam T behind the mani is rotted out...causing you a nice vacuum leak

options....new hose from GM....get various fittings and hose and make new one....get LS6 valley cover and eliminate the entire hose

IMO the LS6 valley cover is the best choice

Believe it or not my 01 WS6 160k miles is still in nice shape. But I have seen them rotted badly in other cars. On my 02 Formula the frt hose was rotted like this but the rear pieces were fine.

I got the PCV elbow as a generic $4 at Autozone. Hanging with all the other vacuum fittings and hoses. Doorman IIRC

The "L" shaped one that goes into front of intake under TB I got at Rockauto

when I got my 2000 bird with 120k miles it took me awhile to notice that the little hose on the mani nipple had rotted....i of course put a piece of 3/8 fuel line on to replace it.....it was not until i installed a LS6 intake that i found the rotted Y behind the mani

I got a stock line off here on the forums minus the pcv. I capped the passanger side valve cover and removed the y and line leading to the passanger side valve cover nipple. I ran the pcv valve into the driver side valve cover instead and replaced the pcv valve assembly and grommet at the manifold with a small piece of 3/8 hose. Looks factory and does the job just fine.
