I have been to two mechanics and am on my fourth ERG unit in a very short time, The first one failed. The second one was failing at 20% pintel opening. The third one was stuck at 60% pintel open and didn't even seem to be functioning some of the time.( it had 300 miles on it)

I have a fresh Cat. The wiring has been checked and rechecked and is OK.

Anyone had this problem before?

Got a used one on there now, we'll see how long it goes.

if the engine is running rich you could be filling the egr valve with soot and carbon and it will get stuck shut/open. also check the vacuum line to the valve.
