Default New F Body oil pan casting damage?

Received this oil pan and saw this small piece missing, presumably casting slag damage, but not sure. Has anyone else seen similar issues? I reached out to the vendor and they checked their inventory and said all the ones they had in stock were the same. Not sure if this is a batch, or what? Definitely don’t think they were engineered this way. Anyone have any idea / how to proceed?

thanks!
