Default Re-Installing all HVAC Components

Hello, we had bought a stripped 99 Trans Am, zero hvac components, it has no heat, no ac, no vents, nothing, as this one is for my girlfriend, we need heat back at the very least so she can drive during rain storms safely without fog. Any idea where to begin? Can I use parts from a v6 firebird down at the pick a part? Any help at all would be appreciated, as far as I know I need the vent system for under the dash and heater core.. beyond that I am clueless where to even begin let alone re-installing everything. Thanks for any help!

If you could score another roller for cheap it would be greatly beneficial, that way you can pull apart what you have, and then have every component, nut, bolt, clip, wire you would need there. But if that's not an option, yes a v6 car from the yard will have what you need, you need to find out what you need though. Inside and outside HVAC box, wiring, controls, cables, sensors, heater core, evaporator, condenser, heater core hoses, AC lines for the set up you are using, V6 or V8, etc etc. The under dash stuff, inside, and outside HVAC box's are the same between v6 and v8 cars, I believe your big difference will be in the needed heater core hoses and AC lines.

PLEASE PLEASE Take lots of pix and post them up. The HVAC is the least documented thing about cars, and I've got a need to know how it goes together - I've got a shop manual but that's no substitute for the real thing. There are a bunch of vacuum valves on the unit, and relays beside some things. I think I have a relay clicking (so annoying) but dread having to maybe take apart the dash to get to it, I'm not sure which it is (everything's fully functional far as I can tell) but I can only hear it "somewhere up in there" on the passenger side.

Thanks

Yes, a V6 should be just fine. I highly recommend finding a copy of the 1999 Factory Service Manuals for the car. (You should be able to find them on eBay. You may have to wait a few weeks for them to pop up.) The manuals may cost you $100-$200, but they will give you step by step instructions for doing all this work (with pictures)! Everything you need to take the car apart and put it back together is all in there.
