Default 2000 Trans Am idle problem

So I've had my 2000 WS6 for about 5 years now and have had this problem since I've had it.
Basically what happens is if I disconnect my battery for any amount of time and then reconnect it then start it up it acts like its going to die the whole time anytime after I rev it up. What I mean by that is if I hit the gas it revs up then when it comes back to idle it drops to about 300-200 rpm and almost wants to die but catches itself.
I have to wait till it warms up a bit then turn it off and once I start it again it acts fine.
I just recently removed the egr and air pump as well as replaced the coolant temp sensor. None of this was obviously it and when I first got the car I replaced all 4 O2 sensors because it had a code for the O2's. I am at a loss and really would like to finally find the problem. I've checked the forum and didnt see anything like my problem. Let me know if you all have any ideas. Thanks!

Research the idle relearn process. It's supposed to be done anytime you disconnect the battery.

1.) Is your battery good?
2.) When you turn on the key do you hear the fuel pump and will it start and idle?
3.) If so, have you gone out and drove the car long enough so the ECM can go through all of its system checks?

98-02 Camaro-Firebird Idle Learn Procedure

Anytime the Power-Train Control Module (PCM) or battery is disconnected, or the PCM looses power, the PCM‘s learn position of the Idle Air Control valve (IAC) pintle is lost.
The engine idle is unstable when the IAC pintle position is lost.
Perform the following procedures in order to return the IAC valve pintle to the correct position.

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Restore the PCM battery feed.
  3. Turn off the AC controls.
  4. Set the parking break and block the driveway wheels.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Shift the transmission selector into the drive range.
  7. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes.
  8. Turn on the AC controls.
  9. Allow the engine idle for 10 minutes.
  10. Shift the transmission selector into the park range.
  11. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes.
  12. Turn off the AC controls.
  13. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes.
  14. Turn off the engine for 30 seconds.

1. Yea battery is very good. The car mostly sits and I charge it if it sits to long. But if I go on deployment then I disconnect the battery. It's only when I reconnect the battery that this happens.
2. Yes everything is good except for the idle. Then once I warmed it up, shut the car off and then started it back up it's fine.
3. Yea I cant drive it to far right now. The radiator pisses out fluid out of the upper hose once the system gets actual pressure lol. I finally got one on order lol. Been pretty strapped for the last few years due to personal things lol. Thank you for your help!

Sounds like it just needs a drive cycle so it can go through its system checks. Once that's completed hopefully no codes and you'll be good to go. By the way, thank you for your service and god bless!
