P0300 and P1689 - help
Flashing CEL last Thursday on highway as wife entered the highway. she pulled over - shut off the car. she restarted it - no CEL. I told her to drive it "gingerly" home. she did with no issues and no light.
Pulled coades and had the following:
P0300 - random multiple misfire (i have new plugs, havent had time to put them in, and new coil packs) I think this will fix that code, will also clean MAF
P1689 - Traction Control Delivered Torque Output Circuit -
Cause:
- Poor connection at the PCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, and poor terminal to wire connection.
- Damaged harness. Insp
I think the P1689 was a fluke because of the P0300 - would you agree? If not - where is this connector located?
i wont have time to replace plugs and coil packs until another week. so I am hoping to gather as much info on these issues as I can.
I drove it Saturday - no CEL but when I would get heavy on the throttle, it spat and sputtered out the exhaust, so I backed off. Had I continued - I bet the flashing CEL would have came back.
2 of the three coil packs are original - one has been replaced (before I bought the car 5 years ago)
the plugs and wires are newer - 3 years.
thoughts and help appreciated.
