Default Low Oil Pressure

I just recently bought a 99 camaro z28. It already had work done to it and i decided to do away with the stock heads and out on some 799’s. After completing the head swap, i broke the oil pressure sensor which wouldn’t read anything. And forgot to ground the pcm and dash went crazy and shut off the car. So i put a new one in and grounded the pcm back up and every since it has read low oil pressure when it was completely fine before head swap. Start up is around 40 cold and then once it warms up it starts to drop. When hot and WOT it don’t move a hair past 40psi. Then Shifting into neutral it drops to around 5-10psi. No loss in power. Just a tick noise coming from what sounds like a pully but don’t sound like it’s coming from the motor what so ever. I can’t figure It out, Please help.

Pull belt see if noise goes away to start. What brand sensor did you replace it with? The oil pressure gauge isn't a true read on pressure, it just lets you know that you have some pressure. Mechanical gauge if you can install one would give you some piece of mind maybe.

When doing sensors you get what you pay for, don't skimp on electrical stuff on these cars. It'll just cause headaches later on.

I installed a banjo style adapter into the valley that retains the stock sensor but allows you to run a steel braided line to connect to a mechanical gauge if needed. OEM ACDelco sensors have been working for me and I've yet to install a mechanical gauge to tell what's really going on but my pressure holds 50-60 on the stock gauge so I'm not worried. I would like to see what it really is for comparison though.
