cataclean repeat? Hi,
My 2001 WS6 TA got pretty much fixed up as far as some rough running she was experiencing, but then the P0420 code came up, probably because it was running rich for quite awhile. There was no actual loss of power, just the code. I ran a bottle of Cataclean through it, and it resolved it. No code and even better running. That lasted a few hundred miles, or so, and now the code is back. Car stills runs good. Is it o.k. to run another bottle of cataclean through it right away? The instructions are to use it 2-4 time per year, but it doesn't say how often is o.k. I figure its fine and it might do the trick, but I thought I would ask to learn what others have to say about it.

I don't think this product will fix your problem. The P0420/P0430 is a common code specifically on the 2000-02 LS1 F-body, GM actually issued a warranty extension for the cats on these model years (however, this has long since expired). The coatings begin to wear off the substrate rendering the cats as nothing more than a pass-thru with limited or no ability to reduce tail pipe emissions. It's not a functional issue at all (won't effect power or driveability), it just effects emissions. It's really a non-issue unless you have a sniff or scan test to take in your region.
