Question Air Conditioning

As some of you know, my WS6 has sat for the last 4 years in a climate controlled garage, under a cover. I'm starting to go through the fluids, filters, etc. One thing is that the air only blows warm. I'm assuming that the vehicle has leaked out the R134 somewhere, or its just from lack of use. I've had the car 15 years and it has 19k on it, 2nd owner. I don't recall using the air ever, but i've had the car so long, I could be wrong. Is there a common failpoint for the air conditioning on these that I should check? I have a refill canister with a gauge on it, but I do not have a dye test kit. Probably an O ring set somewhere that is dry rotted, but I figure i'd ask here first.

Start by seeing if the compressor clutch is on when you turn on the AC. If it is, check the pressures with some gauges. You may just be low on r134a.

If I am low, that would indicate a leak. Is there any "common" area on these cars where the refrigerant leaks from?

I don't if there is any specific location that leaks on these cars. From my experience, I had a leak at the compressor and towards the end of it's life had to recharge it to start the summer. I was actually over 300k before I had to replace the compressor. When you recharge it, add some dye and you'll find the leak with some UV glasses.

I have not yet done the leak test. Each weekend, i've been between projects and helping family. I hope to get to do that either this upcoming weekend or next. The car is stored an hour away from where I actually live, so I only have the weekends to work on her.

My WS6's ac is acting up and not working great. I may have a leak and/or my compressor is not functioning properly. I did a quick look for leaks a couple of days ago but nothing jumped out at me. I'm going to have to give the hoses and connections a much closer look. Keep us posted with what you find.

I will update the thread once I get back to the car and do the leak test. My air only acted up that one time that I had mentioned; a week ago when I did drive the car for an extended period, I did not have any issues with it blowing anything other than ice cold air. It feels colder than my 2014 Grand Cherokee that recently had some AC parts replaced by the dealer and verified for no leaks, blowing 40 degrees (i have a temp gauge sitting in the vent).

For what it's worth. My vent temps went down to 39 degrees yesterday with the blower on low. On high, I see as low as 42. Ambient temperature certainly plays into it; it was 82. This is with the stock condenser (365k miles) and a replaced orifice tube, receive dryer and evacuated system (45 minutes) and recharge. Hope this helps. I can pull some pressures if you like.

My car's ac has taken a turn for the worst. It's pretty much not cooling at all. Vent temps about 80 degrees here in the Houston area August heat. Not good. I'm going to put my gauges on it over the weekend and see what I find. I'm also going to take a good look for leaks. I've been monitoring this ac system for a couple of months by driving with a thermometer in the ac vent. It's been doing some strange things and I'm thinking that I have a bad variable displacement, V7 compressor.
