1998 trans am wont crank, no security light on dash
Hey everyone, I have a question. I have a 1998 trans am that day in storage for 3 years without a battery. I recently started working on it by replacing the dash harness since the fuse box was shot. When I hooked up the battery the headlights didn’t go up and down letting me know that the alarm has kicked in. When I go to start the car the security light on the dash doesn’t light up at all and therefore won’t let the car crank over. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thank you for any help!

Your assumptions are incorrect... if VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) was preventing the car from cranking then the SECURITY light in the instrument cluster would be on - either solid or flashing depending on what it sees as the problem. If you're saying that the SECURITY light did not come on at all - even during the bulb test - then you have a different electrical problem.
Also, the headlights will not go up and down in relation to the alarm unless the motor gears are stripped. That's a fault, not a normal function. If configured to do so (programmable option), the alarm system will flash the parking lights when armed or disarmed and if the headlight motor gears are stripped then the headlights will raise and lower. If there's nothing wrong with the headlight gears then only the parking lights will flash.
