Default Sanity check - steering wheel shakes at 60MPH... front tires/alignment?

I have been just driving back and forth to work lately, so I don't go over 55MPH. I did get on the freeway today, and the steering wheel starts shaking at 60MPH. I think that means that I need new tires and/or alignment, right? The tires are a few years old, so it would make sense.

Re-balance the wheels and go from there.

Alignment won't cause a shake unless you have worn tie rods.

Definitely does not get worse when breaking. It might get slightly better, but not much.
