Default Water in rear taillight. Replacement seals?

I bought a 2001 Trans Am that had a leaking tail light. i bought a new (used) taillight lense for it and Im having the same issues. I saw on the main thread for this topic that replacing the seals on the taillight bulb housing may help. This would make sense as I doubt both the original and replacement lense I bought leaked.

Is there a special tail light seal kit for it? I cant find one online. Do I have to buy some kind of generic seals?

You can look up the part numbers for the seals in this catalog in Section 6: https://www.powerandsignal.com/docs/...%20Catalog.pdf (Special Products, Lamp Sockets)

The parts can be had from Mouser.

These seals to keep moisture out, but you should have a lot back there to begin with. If you have standing water, you likely have a cracked lens.

^ Or better yet - before you start ordering parts - swap the seals from your good lens to your bad one. If it doesn't fix the problem, you know it's not the seals.

One of mine had about 2 gallons of water in it. I poured it out and ran a hair dryer in it for about 2 hours to make sure it was dry. Then I ran a bead of silicon all the way around it covering the seam. It's still dry 2 years later.
