Cleaning / lubing the windows track
Thanks
Bill
The most important thing is to use a compatible silicone grease for the replacement. Sil-Glyde is what is used for the track and you can get it at any parts store:

Just take the door panel off, take the door speaker out, and then use a dry rag to wipe the grease out of the three tracks. (One attached to the window glass, one vertical at the back of the door, and one short horizontal track, hidden in the inside panel right next to the speaker.) Then generously lube the roller and track around the roller with Sil-Glyde. Actuate the window. Repeat, if necessary until everything wipes out clean grease. BTW - The "rollers" on the regulator and the tracks don't actually roll. So, don't worry if they don't seem to move freely. They just pivot on ball joints and glide in the tracks. (BTW - Also don't try to remove them. The posts they mount to are fragile and trying to manipulate them can break them or the posts/tracks. This will tail-spin you in to a new type of expensive hell because replacements are not available.)
If you put in a new motor and the movement of the glass is slow, you probably have something else weighing on the mechanism. The common problem is improper adjustment of the window stabilizers. Be sure to follow these instructions exactly and in this order and you should get a smooth moving mechanism: http://shbox.com/1/adj_window.html
