Starter screeching issue

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of an issue. Rebuilt the engine and 4l60e in a 95 Trans am. New starter went in.. it was grinding with shims.... without shims it wouldn't grind, but made a loud screech right after the car started. After several starts the starter nose actually broke. I got another one...same exact issue and would screech. I read on a thread that a high performance starter would cure this... I bought one. Same thing happened.. I'm at an end with this and not sure where to go. Here's a video of the thread I found with someone who had the same issue. Mine is doing the exact same thing. See video below. No it's not the belt either it's brand new as well. It's def coming from the starter

Metal on metal squeal like that probably means the gear backlash is way too tight. That's also why there is too much load on the front bearing (breaking the housing). Add shims.

The problem is when I start adding shims yes it stops squealing but then it starts grinding

Then use thinner shim.

No luck...i shimmed it as much as possible. I'm having no luck with this. I wish someone had an answer to this😏

"As much as possible" sounds like the opposite of using thinner shims.

I used thinner shims until it was too shimmed out is what I meant
