Default What radiator is this?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and need some help figuring out the correct radiator for my son's 2002 WS6 (manual). Most of the rads seem to have connections for an internal transmission cooler on the passenger side but his does not; only the coolant hose openings. Is this the right radiator and, if so, where can I get one. Thanks

The internal transmission cooler is only for the automatic transmission vehicles, a manual would not have come with this (nor does it need one).

Tons of options for radiators, but if the car is stock then a direct fit replacement should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. What scares me is the images of the radiators I'm seeing on the websites. Even some that say they are for manual trans. show what appear to be 2 connections for oil lines. Are they sealed for manual trans. types?

Sorry, but we are new to this car and don't have any comparisons around and didn't expect to be changing a radiator. If you know of a place where I could get one, stock or otherwise, that is the right style please PM me. Regardless, thanks again.

It could be that the same image is used for both the auto and manual versions, or that the only version currently in production as a 'direct' service replacement (at least of the brands you are reviewing) contains a trans cooler (might be cheaper just to make one version, even though the cooler isn't needed for the manuals). Either way, you wouldn't have to connect the trans cooler ports to anything on yours, they would be internally sealed from coolant flow no matter what, and could just be left as open ports in a manual trans application.

FWIW, your current setup is factory correct (meaning no trans cooler ports for the manual trans) and could likely be the original radiator (for a manual, it would have had a green sticker near the top of the passenger side tank, facing forward, with part number and production date information - the auto trans cars had a pink/reddish sticker).

Here's a couple of threads discussing replacement radiators, with some part numbers for direct-fit (Spectra) replacements as well as upgrade options:

RPM_WS6, Of course! What you said turned a light bulb on in my brain. If there were a trans cooler in the radiator it would be SEPARATE from the coolant and wouldn't matter. Also, I've seen images where it "looked" like the connections were there but sealed (couldn't really tell from the pics, hence the question). I'm looking at an aluminum 2 tube replacement.

Thanks a lot!
