Please Help ! 09 silverado engine swap So im not really sure if im posting this in the correct place or if im even allowed to post this here in the first place. im just looking for some help or info if possible. A friend of mine has a 09 gmc with the stock 5.3l vortec in it. he blew the engine coming home one evening and then insists on rebuilding the engine himself when he has no knowledge to doing so to begin with lol ,but proceeds anyways. everything is still stock, he replaced rod bearings and such, you know , all the normal things when rebuilding an engine. Except he installed a new bmr stage 3 cam and cam springs along the way, and thats it. Now he is trying to start it up and it cranks but no start. he had the timing out of whack the first time because i could hear it. he addressed that issue and again it cranks but no start. but it sounds really really close to starting, with like the ocassional sputter i guess you would say of the engine trying to fire up. Not really throwing any codes leading to the issue at hand. i did notice the maf sensor reading some crazy readings from -40 degrees all the way up to 302 degrees. any help on what the issue is or right direction to look would be greatly appreciated.
