Ignition chime & keyfob distance

Ignition chime & keyfob distance I've noticed that when turning my key from off to run, the ignition chimes no longer sound. What may cause that? I did recently replace my DRL module to restore my DRL behavior.
In case it's related, is there anything on the body that would cause a new keyfob, with a new battery, to have random operational distance? Clear line of site, standing in the same spot, parked in the same spot, sometimes it will work 30+ feet away, sometimes I can stand right next to the car and it won't work. Does the type of window tint cause reception problems? In addition, when the keyfob is being temperamental, my driver door lock is intermittently very difficult to rotate the key in.

I bought two new key fobs that have the GM PN on them, both batteries measure 3.3V. Registered both to car no problem but clear line of site operation distance is still random. Turning ignition cylinder from off to run still gives a random number of chimes, anywhere from none to 5.
