Default bad ac compressor?

I'm not a mechanic, just a weekend warrior with the bare basic mechanical skills. When I went to use my ac, my rpms were going like crazy (fluctuating +/- 300 rpms or so). It looks like like the ac compressor might be leaking too when I took a very quick look from underneath. The car has ONLY has done this when I turn the air conditioning on.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the compressor is seizing up. Any opinions?

You're not clear here. Do youmean the RPM DROPS by 300 RPM when the A/C kicks on?
Then yes, it sounds like it is headed south unless it is overcharged with refrigerant

Yes, it drops ....and then it goes back up just to drop again and repeat. Sorry, I should've been more clear. It isn't overcharged.

It might be seizing up, but I'm no A/C expert either. Take it to a shop to diagnose this.

Could be that it's low on R134a too. Not enough and the compressor will kick on and kick off repeatedly which it should do but not every 5-10 seconds but more like about a minute.

I agree with this. Low refrigerant is probably the issue.
