Power Steering Hose I am in the process of replacing just about all my coolant hoses, and as well as deleting the stock power steering cooler and installing an aftermarket one. My power steering hoses to and from the cooler need replacement. When I went to look at the return hose, I was in shock at how much it cost. Am I missing something here? The pressure hose, that I am not replacing is only about $35. Yet, the non pressure return line is approx. $115. Why is this? Here's the links for AutoZone, but the price is pretty consistent at other parts dealers as well. Any ideas on another replacement that will work? Can I just buy the power steering fitting and add my own hose?

yes you can cut off the old hose and put on your own

The low pressure hose has always been really expensive. It's a lower volume part that fails less because its low pressure.
This thread shows how to cut the old hose off. With a little more delicate patience, you can get the entire pressed clamp off. The end result of this is the same thing that generic Duralast kit would give you. (The Duralast part is generic and I don't believe is an exact match for stock.
