I have a 1999 Firehawk. I broke the front tab off the battery tray so I can not bolt down my battery per NASA spec. I can not find anything on the WWW. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for any questions or other input.
The battery tray is an integrated part of the coolant overflow bottle. This is a common item to break, some folks have come up with other options for securing the battery but the only way to restore stock appearance/functionality is to replace that whole bottle. It's not terribly expensive (list price is about $86 from GM, but there might be cheaper aftermarket versions from Dorman and the like). Part number is 10402687 for the bottle/tray combo (and 10188034 for the cap and dipstick, should you also want to replace that - actually, I just checked and the cap/dipstick combo is no longer available from GM, but the bottle/tray still is).
Some folks have trouble getting the grommet for the overflow hose out of the old bottle. This part is not available from GM, but I believe Hawks Motorsports is now reproducing the grommet and tube (if you end up needing it, but you won't if you're able to get the old one out intact).

I used the Dorman and reused the grommet/hose/tube assembly. The Dorman looks like the original. As mentioned above, the grommet is hard to get out, so I pulled the hose/tube assembly out of the old tank and hack sawed the bottom off of the tank so I could push the grommet up and out.
Thanks to everyone for their info. NASA is picky about their tech inspection. If the car is more than 10 years old you must pay $40 to have them do the inspection!
I just went through this myself, broken tab and battery was loose. I ordered the Dorman and the molded tray wasnt the best quality. Ended up sending it back and got an OEM off ebay for right at $60 bucks. Fit/finish was quite a bit nicer than the Dorman was.
