Default Battery

What are you guys using for batteries?

Ive heard people talking about non-vented batteries and looked up AGM batteries. What's the recommendation?

I use a 650 CCA AC Delco battery, but that's just my preference.

I am running an Optima yellow top. Was running a red top until I added a dash cam, little things like rain or wind blowing the trees would activate the dash cam and run the red top down after a few days, put a yellow top in a few years ago and no problems.

The old AC Delco Gold/Professional series batteries are some of the longest lasting batteries I have ever experienced. The one in my '98 is currently 9+ years old and the one in my '71 is currently 11+ years old. They are still going strong, but not quite as strong in the last year or two. I wouldn't have let them go this long in a daily driver, but these are garage queens so I'm not counting on either car in an emergency. In any event, I'm not sure if the newest Delco batteries are as good because they no longer offer the extended warranty period (of my current old versions) in Group 75 or 78 size. So I may try something different, especially in the '71 as I use an era-correct R89 battery topper anyway.

I had Interstate but it leaked from install. Went back to Diehard when it went south. Just a personal preference.

That is what I have on my Ecoturd Flex. It finally kicked the factory battery and that is what I went with. They are good batteries. I have a buddy that's worked for them for 35 years and they never seem to make a bad battery.
