Default Steering rack input seal replacement

So my steering rack just randomly decided to start leaking out of the input seal. My question is, is that seal replaceable in car? It seems like it would be. I have a UMI K-member, so easy access to pull the rack if I have to.

For anyone running across this, there's a write up in a linked thread on the thread I'm going to post that gives details on how to remove and replace the seal. I'm going to attempt it in car. I have a turbo so no exhaust in the way to speak of, and I have a UMI K-member. Basically, you remove your steering shaft, then remove an internal snap ring, then drill two holes into the seal to thread screws into it and pop it out with a screwdriver by prying on those screws. I'll post up my results when I get it done. https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...seal-kits.html

Well, I'm happy to report it can be done in the car - mostly. I had to unbolt it and let it hang in order to drill holes in the old seal to pop it out. I tried to do it in place, and even with a right angle drill, I just couldn't get the angle to drill into it. But it wasn't too bad of a job.

Yeah, for sure. Considering everything in the engine bay is brand new, I couldn't stand having a leak making everything look like crap by getting fluid everywhere.
