jack stand / floor jack placement

jack stand/floor jack placement I'm planning to do my headers, y-pipe, and cat-back install this weekend (well at least if the GMMG is at my door when I get home, hopefully it will be). My question is pretty simple. Where are the best points to place the floor jacks near the front of the car as well as near the rear? Where would be the best points to place the jackstands for both the front and rear of the car? I know there are quite a few places to use, but i'm sure there are some that are better than others. I've never lifted an f-body off the ground before so I just want to have a double check to make sure I don't put pressure on the wrong points. Thanks in advance for any help. 
rear: most guys lift the rearend with one jack placed under the center pumpkin on the rear axle. Or, you can use the flat rear frame rail sections just in front of where your lower control arms bolt on. Or, you can jack up on each side of the axle.
front: some guys use one jack under the main K-member (brace under oil pan). Some people jack up on the flat subframe areas located behind the front wheels, just inside of where the fender bolts to the body structure. There are some flat places that look like frame, with a couple holes drilled in it. About 10 inches from the side of the car.
As long as you aren't jacking up on anything that is attached to a outer body panel, or directly to the floor pan, you should be okay.

When i did my header install i had the jack stands on 2 2x8s cut about a foot long. Jack stands on the rear were placed just ahead of the place where the LCA's bolt on. Same thing with the jack stands being on the 2 2x8's of wood and those we had on the front k-member.
Take your time and watch out for the jack stands as they could begin to tilt when you are jacking up the opposite side of the car. BE VERY CAREFUL.

I pulled my car onto ramps and i could do most of the work from there. When i needed to lift it MUCH more to put the header in i just put the floor jack under the front with several 2x4s. worked great.

Thanks for the help guys. The damn GMMG didn't come in today, so it looks like i'll have to do the cat-back and headers and y-pipe next weekend.
