Car idles high or low
Please help! Car idles high or low I have a 95 Trans Am. It either idles at about 1300 or about 600 and is barely alive. Once in a while it will run just fine too and idle at about 900 or so. Any ideas? Thanks

IAC possibly. you need some data log to really figure it out without throwing parts at it. however if you have high milage or simply have never done it seaform the throttle body. just make sure you take the IAC out first. thats could be everything or not, thats why i say get a data log on it

Seafoam is like a carbon cleaner. It will clean out your throttlebody incase there is carbon buildup up gunk that is causing an irradic airflow into the motor which would in due course cause your irradic idle. Your IAC helps to measure the incoming air at idle and if it is malfunctioning, your car will idle funny. Also, if you have a custom exhaust with any leaks, particularly header leaks, this will often cause a small idle issue.
