Rear defroster issues.
The passenger side wiring for the rear window defroster on my convertible broke loose from it's connection from the glass. Is it possible to repair this without damaging anything?
I was afraid that the heat of a soldering iron could damage/crack/explode the rear window.......which I'd rather have a non-functioning defroster than an absent rear window.
I bought a soldering iron and some solder but I thought it was best to ask before I break something expensive.
I'm a rookie at soldering as well. I tried but it cooled down to fast to try and get it to stick.
Suggestions please. Is this something that I could just take to the dealer to have fixed? I hate giving the dealership money!

I'm just curious if the heat will damage the glass.
I heated up the connecter pretty darn hot and got the solder to melt...I just couldn't get it to stick to the window. I figured I need a new coat of solder on the window but I'm just afraid that the temps could damage it.
Once again....anyone?..........anyone?
Bueller? Bueller?
