Default Questions about seafoam.

Can you just add it to your gastank and everything is fine?
How much gas should you have?
Will it smoke while it goes thruough?
Does it work well?
Is it a good thing to do since my car is 12 y/o and ive have some idleing problems too.

Basically i dont want to hurt the car by putting something in it.

It won't hurt the car at all just to run it through the tank. I would also run it through the vaccuum line for the intake. That would be your best bet and the price of two cans is negligible for a piece of mind. It could be a number of things from Opti to fuel pump for idle problems. Once you do the intake clean and then let it sit overnight, go out and drive the black out of it go and change the oil. One full tank for the full can of seafoam is what you want to do for mixing. There won't be smoke from the fuel cleaning.

If there is a lot of carbon in the motor, you might have to change your O2's afterwards, as all the carbon will be flushed out of the motor (if seafoaming through vacuum lines) and may ruin your O2's.

Use your brake booster line to suck up half of the bottle. Let it sit for half and hour then run the **** out of it and repeat until you get no smoke.

Putting it in the tank will help clean the injectors and such a little, but it will break sediments loose in the tanke at the same time so you should replace your fuel filter after you use it. Use it the intake way and it works best. Also 500 miles before you change your oil run about a 1/3 of a can in your oil. It helps clean it out.
