strange noise?
strange noise? hey all
Im getting a strange noise coming from i think my drivers side front area. The noise happens when i engange the car into drive idling still and also in reverse. when in neutral the noise doesnt happen. it sounds like a heavy clicking noise. any ideas guys

Does the noise stop after a second or two? or does it just keep clicking? To start i'd get a buddy to help and just shift it in and out of reverse and drive and see if you cann't find where the noise is coming from.

Sounds like maybe your tourque converter bolts are coming loose. Check them out, i have heard of it happening a few times. You will need to remove the bellhousing dust cover and turn the engine with a breaker bar. It should only take 20 minutes to check though.

Verdad Gallardo It could be. I had that problem with a 79 camaro of mine, a friends 3rd gen, and 2 friends 4th gens. It's pretty common. I would check that. It's not like it takes alot of time or anything especially if you have a lift. Just removed the dust cover and use a wrench to tighten down the 3 or 4 torque converter bolts. You can spin the engine with a 5/8 spark plug socket on the crank shaft.
