I use Napa Gold. Me and My Nephew went to the parts store the other day and asked the guy at the counter what filter goes on a 05 Colorodo. He told us and he said unless you have a warranty I wouldn't put a Fram on there. We went with Delco for his truck. I'll use Delco if I don't have a Napa Gold.

And I used to just date fat, ugly women until I found out there was better...

Fram are made from paper/cardboard and have a very small amount of filtering element. Visit the website http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/oil_filter_study/ to see what is inside the cans. If that isn't enough to break you of the FRAM habit, go get a FRAM and a WIX filter and cut them open to have a look.

I plan on not using Fram anymore... note this however.. my '94 GMC Sierra Full size 4x4 pickup truck.... has only used Fram filters and Valvoline 10w-30 motor oil. I changed oil + filter every 3,500 miles. It now has 195,000 HARD (towing, etc) miles on it, and the engine has not been apart nor does it use any oil between changes. I think as long as you change it regularly, it will do its job. But I still run Mobile 1 in my LS1

I don't think the oil and filter are as important in a non-performance vehicle... but there's no way I'd run a subpar flowing/filtering filter like a Fram on a car that sees high rpms and see lots of racing miles.

But for your daily driver car/truck, I don't see it being a problem if its changed regularly.

I've cut open just about every off the shelf filter you can get including K&N and Mobil 1 which are good filter's but I haven't found a better constructed and quality filter than the WIX filter and I use the long one #51522

Another vote for Wix right here. If you can't find it, then I hear the AC Delco ones are good too.

I use K&N. I started getting it, because I thought "Well, they specialize in filtration, so perhaps they know what they are doing." Everytime I ask at the parts store for one, the hilbilly there says, "you know they are the worst filter." They are baseing it off I think flow rates, or something thats written on the boxes of all the filters, I forget what retards say.

Any issues with using the HP2006? Drop in oil pressure, at low/high RPM, or anything like that? How much more oil does it hold with the long filter?

I wish everyone else would get the grippy stuff on their oil filters. It sucks that the Frams suck so bad, they're so easy to put on and take off.
