side mirrors i have a 98 firebird. I was in an accident and i need a new drivers side rear view mirror. Upon calling some junkyards they tried explaining to me all 4th gen mirrors are the same. I tried explaining to them they switched body styles in 98 but they were positive they are the same. Whos right?

There are different types of mirrors depending on whether they're both remote control (electric) or only remote control for the driver-side (mech.), and in 93-97 there was also the 'export' version.
The ones with only the driver side having remote control, are the same for 93-02.
For both being remote control, they changed designs part-way through 1999. (So 1993-1998 and the first part of 1999 are the same; and the second part of 1999 and 2000-2002 are the same.)
This is regarding the main mirror unit, there are some of the small component parts that have the same part# all across 1993-2002.
So although the body style changed in 1998, one type of mirror changed a bit later and the other type didn't change at all... so you're both right
The 93-98 part numbers for all-remote (RPO code DG7) are LH: 10276436 (driver), RH: 10279435. The 93-02 part numbers for half-remote (RPO code D35) are LH: 12528882, RH: 12528881.
