Spark plugs--up for debate on brand, stay away from platinum.
Fuel Filter
PCV valve
Wires--Check yours out first
Belt
Fluids

If you still got original AC's in there, then a plug swap would do wonders.

I'd agree with the above list. For plugs NGK TR55's (for a near stock application) are great and cheap. IMO, you want to stick with factory parts for tuneup parts - you can get them much cheaper online than at your local dealership FWIW (PM me if you don't know where to look). With regard to rotors, don't bother with the crossdrilled/slotted crap. Instead, pick up some Aimco/Duralast rotors from Autozone or get Brembo OEM replacements - these are great bang-for-buck rotors for stock setups. Again, I'm assuming you have a near stock setup, obviously recommendations would change if you were looking for aftermarket upgrades or the like.

what's wrong with platinum plugs? I realize copper is better for performance but I'm about to get the plugs changed and wanted something that would last longer

PLT plugs run 5-10 bucks each..

ngk tr55 = 2 bucks...

performance = eh about the same...
how long do they last? = in a car that will never be raced never be modded ect ect ect.... the platnums might get you 10,000 or so more miles...
in a car that none of the above is true... well they will both last until something makes one foul.. then you will pay to replace them again... that gets expencive...

bang for buck the ngk plug is tops....

oh yeh, and that goes for most any N/A application, not just near stock (mine aint no where near there)

Another vote for the NGK plugs, also look at power slot rotors for a good value in an upgraded rotor.

I hear ya. My reason for the disclaimer was more for the heat range than the brand - I've been really happy with NGKs over the years (I even have a V-power in my lawnmower ).
