ac problems
If it comes on when the relay is crossed, then there is nothing wrong with the freon. Sounds like the computer is not putting the output to the relay to turn it on, or it is putting it out, but the signal isn't making it to the relay. When it comes on, if its not cold, then I'd investigate the freon/check for leaks.

Thats not true. if you jump the relay it will come on even on an empty system. The relay is the last trigger in the system.
