Default Having problems with my coolant

I don't know where to open a topic but I think I should change my radiator system. When temp. is @ 210*, if I stop the car coolant starts to overflow! I changed my thermostat with 160* Hypertech and nothing changed! I mix water and cool-dex exactly 50-50. Everything looks fine and I donno what to do. Maybe I should put a button for direct manuel access to fans

maybe it is just overfilled. Take a look at the resivour levels... are they at the proper line for "running" and "cool"

You switched to a 160* thermostat. Did you reprogram the fans to come on earlier?
Did you bleed the air out of the system?

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...ostat_swap.htm
start with step 13. I did this exact same procedure and have had no problems. I would also look into getting the fans reprogrammed.

i have the same problem after my cam swap but we didn't bleed it from that hose. and i can let the car run for as long as I want or drive the **** out of it and nothing but as soon as i turn it off it will start to hiss and push fluid into the overflow tank. Once the car cools if I take the cap off of the radiator it gurgles and lets some air out. Does this mean that there is still air in the system because it seems to be getting less and less each time or is it possible that I have too much coolant in the car.

Here's something I found a bit ago. It may or may not be relevant to your problem...

Engine Runs Hot, Overheats, Loss of Coolant (Polish Filler Neck/Replace Radiator Cap) #00-06-02-001
Engine Running Hot, Overheating and/or Loss of Coolant (Polish Radiator Filler Neck and Replace Radiator Cap)
1999-2000 Passenger Cars and Trucks

with Composite Radiator End Tank

Condition
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:

Engine running hot
Engine overheating, and/or
Loss of coolant/low coolant message
Cause
The radiator filler neck may have an imperfection in the sealing surface.

Correction

Important
DO NOT REPLACE THE RADIATOR.

Using a piece of 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper backed with a flat piece of wood, polish the filler neck sealing surface using a circular motion.

Replace the radiator pressure cap with a cap of the same part number as shown in the GM Service Parts Catalog.

Warranty Information
For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:

Labor Operation Description Labor Time
J3020 Cap, Radiator Filler - Replace 0.2 hr

I saw that you said you mixed water with your dexcool, I did this after I got my car not knowing any better and heard later that if you mix water and dexcool it gels and makes a grease like substance, and it did in my car I had to flush it out and re fill with nothing but dexcool because it over heated, this might have something to do with your problem.

So you have only anti-freeze in your radiator? Or is it the dexcool pre-mixed with water? You need a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water in there.
