Lt1 Cooling Question
Lt1 Cooling Question I have a 96ss and I am having problems with the car running hot and was wondering how much water the system takes? It seems like the car never has enough water and maybe it is full of air or something because sometimes the radiator is full and other times it is half full?? Doesn't make sense and I need help. I hope it is not a blown head gasket but there is no smoke and the oil looks ok.
you HAVE to make sure that there is no air in the system or it will heat up very quickly. You have to open the bleeder valves. The air will come out and then you fill the rad with anitfreeze and top it off. I would run it for a few seconds afterwards and open the valves again, if the system is bled, only antifreeze will seep out. Dont forget to tighten the the screws when your all done.
