Unhappy Window motor help??!!Update

I think my driver side window motor is about to go. It first started out when I was putting my window up it just suddenly stopped working so I waited a couple of minutes then tried it and it worked. Now I try and put it down and it works for 2seconds then stops and I usually have to turn the car and wait a couple minutes then turn it on to get the window to go up.
Is my motor going bad. How much does it cost to get it fixed or is this something I can do myself.

I just replaced on of mine for the first time last week. Took me 2 hours and 15 minutes, but it was my first time and I was moving SLOW because it was HOT outside. Plus I have to carry all tools up and down from my apt, that sucks.

I used the same link as above (http://www.metalreviewcentre.com/Window.htm).

Long version: At the point where they tell you to reach into the door through the speaker's hole to unclip the wires from the motor....yeah I could NOT find the stupid clip without being able to see it. I had two mirrors on telescoping rods and a flashlight. After trying to unlcip it for awhile I decided that this was stupid and just went ahead and drilled the rviets out. Sure enough, it was 1,000 times easier to unclip once the motor was no longer attatched. Took five seconds at that point, as I could hold the motor in front of the speaker's hole and see everything.

Short version: Go ahead and drill out the rivets before attempting to unclip the wiring harness from the motor.

window motors...window motors...window motors---Arrrgghhh. Everytime I see this topic, it reminds me that mine are going to go out---....someday.

I have flashbacks of my past Firebird, and horrors of the windows/motors...

Well guys I decided to tackle the job of replacing the motor myself and I must say it was a pain in the ****. I went down to Autozone and bought a replacement motor for about 80 big ones. In total it took me about 3 1/2 hours. An hour of it was getting up to find a different tool or look at some of the pictures on the links above on how to do it. I kept dropping the tiny screws inside the door so a tool I recomend would be a telescoping magnet wand to fish them out. I also made a few more holes than I wanted to on the highest rivet when I drilled through the inside door. So now I have a working window again .

I have to thank you guys for the replies and links provided without them I wouldn't have been able to do this job. Another plus I got out of this was I fixed a rattle that was coming from the inside of my door. It was the lock linkage had come out of the rubber grommet that holds it in place.

I have only done it once on my Formula. It took me less than an hour and the motor was $55. I printed out the instructions and brought them over to the car. The three holes I drilled were dead-on too (followed the instructions).
