Default Removing Driver Air bag

95 t/a I've replaced my whole interior with ebony (black) out of an 01 formula. but the dash and steering wheel are still graphite...

I bought a new steering wheel(no air bag) and remotes but fear the danger of replacing my steering wheel because of the airbag.. how are is it to remove??? is it as dangerous as many shops say it is... When my horn wouldnt' work and my radio buttons didn't work i called around to see who could replace the coil and everyone freaked out because it had an airbag so I had to take it in the butt from the dealer.... So how hard is removing the airbag/ steering wheel?

Its not as bad as everyone makes it sound. I had to do this on a Geo Metro once and I am doing the same as you to my Camaro (94->01). I'm at work and dont have my 94 GM service manual with me right now, but I will look it up when I get home. I just moved, so I might not be able to find the right box tonight. Anyway, from what I remember it was as simple as removing the fuse then unplugging the yellow wire. I'll try and look up that stuff for you.

just get the apropriate size torx bit, and remove the 4 screws to the airbag assy., then gently pull and disconnect the wires, there will also be this ribbon looking thing on a spool, its been so long I cant remember what its for, but be carefull not to **** it up taking it out, then use a steering whel or ballancer puller to remove the wheel.
