Default E-Brake light on while E-Brake is off.

I have a 95 T/A with ~ 149,000miles.
My E-Brake light on the dash will not turn off. I have no other lights on in the dash (ie. check engine, abs inop, etc.) 1st, I checked my brake fluid... It's full. Then I pulled the center console apart to inspect the e-brake switch. That also seems fine. My rotors are somewhat warped but they are not that bad. My brake pads seem to have a reasonable amount of life left on them and the car just passed inspection. I'm looking for ideas of what to check next. Will I get an error code from a PCM reader? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Posting to try to remind myself to check list of DTCs tonight to see if there is one for ebrake.

Do 95s have DRLs?

No DRL's in '95

I ran a PCM scan last night and there are no codes. So I ran another scan to be sure... still no codes. I talked to a couple tech's also last night. They say either the E-Brake switch or the proportioning valve switch. I can visually see that the E-brake switch is in normal operating condition. Other than disconnecting and reconnecting the proportioning valve switch, I don't know much else about it.

Did you check the e brake switch to make sure that when the handle is released it opens the contacts? Try disconnecting the e brake switch and see if the light goes out.

I did make sure that the switch opens the contacts but I didn't try taking the connector off the switch yet. I'll try that. Do you know how that switch works? It seems that when the E-brake is on, the switch closes the connection to ground (E-brake light on). When the E-brake is off, the switch opens and there is no path to ground (E-brake light supposed to be off). It seems simple but I'm not sure how it was designed to work.

I tried disconnecting the E-brake switch connector. This did not change anything. I also found that if I disconnect the connector to the proportioning valve switch, and take the E-brake off, the light goes out. How can I find out if I need a new switch or there is another problem? The dealer tells me that the proportioning valves almost never go.
