High Idle

High Idle Every so often when I start my car in the morning, she'll idle real high. (1200-1500 range). At first I thought it was related to starting the car with the a/c left on since that's the only time it would happen, so I made a point of making sure the a/c is off first. This morning though she started doing it with the a/c off. If I let her sit running for a minute or so, the idle will calm down to where she normally is. (Around 1000 on cold winter mornings at first startup and it comes down as she gets warm.) If I don't wait long enough for the idle to settle, she'll start surging when I put her into gear.
Now I've been having some electrical gremlins lately that still haven't been completely worked out of the car...in another thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-maintenance-repairs/351424-weird-electrical-bug-diagnosis.html) someone else was having electrical and high idle problems... it got mentioned to them that surging is from the ECM trying to get the battery charged back up. This is the first time I've heard this...does this make sense to anyone else?
With the electrical gremlins that I'm still trying to chase away, I wouldn't rule out something pulling a drain that shouldn't be. What else can I look at though that would cause a high idle at startup?
(The car is still stock internals, lid, cutout, TCS 4200 convertor, but she's been tuned for it, and the convertor isn't a new intall.)

I've been having the same problem but mine is worse. When you drive the car and your coming to a stop it surges forward when it down shifts from 2 to 1st gear auto trans. it's a bitch to stop. i reset the computer to get the sevrice engine soon light off and that seems to help a little but the problem keeps coming back to the same degree.
