i just had my rear axel bearings changed last week, and i went on a little road trip and now when i let me foot off the gas around 50mph or so i hear a whining/ humming noise from around the right rear. Not like the grinding before when the axel bearings were bad, and it seems to only happen when i let off the gas and it decreases in sound as i reduce speed. when i touch the gas again it seems to go away. Its not super loud but my passanges in th car hear it. could this be normal in anyway. Should i worry about it? Or just get an exhaust to cover up the sound. my car is a 98 ta a4 100% stock

my 01 ws6 does same thing... just a slight whining noise when you come off throttle around 65mph. Noisy rearend. Done that since brand new. Never could get dealership to hear the noise. Long tube headers and exhaust fixed it.
