Default Power Window problem... Never seen this one before.

I know how a dead window motor behaves... It slows to a stop before it can finish opening and has to cool down before going back up. I've had a few of them.

This one is weird though, and I just want to verify. My window will roll down at full speed and comes to a sudden stop about halfway. I know there's no obstruction, because if i let it sit and "cool down" it will roll up/down again.

Is this a bad motor?

My 2000 Z28 had the exact same problem. It was a bad window motor.

There are a number of threads that explain how to replace the window motors, try a search in the General Maintenance & Repairs forum (where this is off to soon)
