Question Window motor repair possible?

I've got a factory window motor sitting in the garage that I never threw away (was on it's way out) and my g/f's window motor is going out too. I was wondering if there's anyway to repair the motor? I figure I have an extra window motor to mess around with, so why not give it a try. I know I've heard about replacing the solenoid because it gets too hot therefore causing the motor to work in short bursts after it cools down. Does anyone know for sure? I've done a couple of searches on the subject, but came out empty handed.

a guy on camarov6.com repaired his

apperently if you open it up somehow there is a small resistor that burns out on them.

He replaces the 1 cent resistor and bam it worked again, for a few days that is. untill the resistor burned out again...

maybe you can replace the resistor with a higher resitance resistor.

I'd recommend against trying to repair it, Reason being, it's such a pain to replace 'em, that, should it not last, You'll be back in there, fightin' it again.
For this reason, I'd just get a brand new one and be done with it.

Its really easy to replace the power window motor on a 4th Gen F-body. I did mine for the first time in under an hour. If I had to do it again, I could do it in 30min.
