I didn't know of an upgraded fuel filter. Just go to Auto Zone and order the regular one and change it every 10k miles.... or less.

This is the ticket here. A standard one will work fine, I've had a fram and purolater (spelling??) on mine and no difference between the 2 and the stock one. Not hard to do, but open the gas cap to help vent the system and have a catch can ready, otherwise a bath in gas may occur....

Same here. I just went with the regular replacement from Fram.

If you're doing an oil change, cleaning a grease pit, or repacking wheel bearings, changing the fuel filter after that on your car is a great way to clean up your hands . I got a little bath myself....the biggest annoyance was the gas running up my arm as I was laying under the car

Yes sir! I'd advise putting the car on jackstands for more working room as well...

welll i been looking alot into this because fuel gettin to your engine is number 1 in my book and everyone said that the ones from autozone were fine pureatlor? something like that, they cost like 5 bucks nothing great, but i did find a much better one....next time you replace yours go to NAPA and get one from them but make sure to get gold series its 15 bucks and alot better than the other ones

Just because it costs more doesn't always mean it's better.

I'm not trying to tick you off. I'm just trying to be helpful. The guy at Napa will tell you his is better because he wants you to buy from him. Any name brand fuel filter will be fine be it a Fram, Purolater, Napa, etc.

You did get a lot of helpful advice regarding this in your other post on this subject:

Hmmmmmmm please explain. Did you have the fuel tested after installing each filter? Did you gain horsepower from this napa filter? What is it that makes one filter better than the other?

My eyesight isn't good enough to see in the little threaded openings, so you'll definitely need to explain what makes the Napa version so much better.

If I cut it open, then it's easy to tell which one is better.....the one that isn't cut open.

Grow up? Please read what you typed above and then ask yourself who needs to grow up. Plus it's not a very smart idea to make threats towards another person on an internet message board. There are lots of witnesses.

You can make fun of me all you want, but obviously you found the story on my website to be interesting enough to read it all.

I'm only leaving this response after reading the negative response towards me in the following post:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-firebird-1967-2002/373483-trans-am-bank-checks.html

Anyone else who would care to read the story about the barn can do so by clicking on my sig pic.
